In cooperation with the digital specialists TRO a touchscreen software has been developed, which in addition to multitouch operation also uses the object recognition for touchscreens by eyefactive.
BMW presented its innovations for vehicle series on a 42" multitouch table to visitors in Goodwood, south of England. The interactive application encouraged visitors through animated graphics and videos to place toy cars of different models on the display. As soon as a model was placed in its designated location on the touch display, an animation with an information field faded in, which then could be operated by fingers. Users could retrieve different information on several buttons, among others also online content in real time via an integrated web browser.
The recognition of the different models was implemented with the object recognition technology by eyefactive: every car was equipped with a so called marker chip. The chips are being recognized and internally assigned to an individual number. This way the application can differentiate, which object is currently in which position. Further actions can be added by further programming.
TRO developed the user interface and delivered specifically designed graphics as well as client´s content in various media formats.
