  • More efficient processes for staff and customers

Edeka Jensen, a grocery store located in Uetersen near Hamburg, partnered with eyefactive to introduce an innovative interactive touchscreen kiosk solution at its meat counter. The project represents the first touchscreen kiosk pilot within Edeka Germany and aims to improve the customer experience while optimizing in-store processes at the point of sale.

The interactive touchscreen kiosk POLYTOUCH® SWIFT 24 by Pyramid, in combination with eyefactive's interactive kiosk software platform, was launched in December 2025. Customers can place their fresh food orders directly via the touchscreen terminal. Payment remains unchanged and is completed later at the regular cash point, ensuring seamless integration into existing retail operations.

After placing an order, customers receive a printed receipt confirming their order, while staff members receive a separate receipt with the incoming request. While the staff prepares the order, customers are free to continue shopping throughout the store. Once the order is ready, it can be picked up at a dedicated collection point near the meat counter.

This process significantly reduces perceived waiting times, even during busy periods with visible queues at the counter. Customers no longer need to wait in line, and staff benefit from a structured and efficient order workflow. At the same time, the interactive kiosk creates a futuristic, innovative customer experience that delivers strong marketing value for the store.

Powered by eyefactive’s no-code touchscreen software platform, the solution is flexible, scalable, and future-proof. The project demonstrates how smart retail technology and interactive touchscreen kiosks can modernize traditional service counters and enhance the overall in-store experience.

"The touchscreen ordering kiosk allows our customers to avoid waiting times and makes the entire ordering process more convenient." - Lennart Jensen, Edeka Jensen
"This pilot project shows how interactive touchscreen kiosks can create efficient, future-ready processes at the retail point of sale." - Johannes Ryks, eyefactive GmbH
